Details of the Job/Internship

PayGlocal is hiring for the position of Legal Associate with 0-3 years of experience to join their office in Bengaluru.

Role and Responsibilities

• Legal Advisory & Regulatory Compliance
• Provide legal counsel on a wide range of regulations, particularly:
• RBI Payment Aggregator / Payment Gateway Guidelines
• Payment and Settlement Systems Act
• Data protection and privacy laws
• Employment, IP, and general financial regulatory laws
• Monitor and analyze regulatory updates in the fintech and payments ecosystem
• Contract Drafting & Negotiation
• Draft, review, and negotiate diverse commercial agreements including:
• Merchant onboarding contracts
• Vendor and service provider agreements
• Technology licensing and service-level agreements (SLAs)
• Non-disclosure agreements (NDAs)
• Lead negotiations to ensure favorable terms and legal protection for the company
• Cross-functional Collaboration & Risk Management
• Work closely with internal teams—Product, Compliance, Operations, and Tech—to ensure legal risks are identified and mitigated
• Support internal policy development and implementation to maintain regulatory alignment

Eligibility

• A 5-year integrated LLB degree from a recognized law school is mandatory
• 0–3 years of post-qualification experience in one or more of the following:
• Fintech, banking, or payments industry
• Law firms or in-house roles with exposure to commercial contracting or regulatory advisory
• Strong grasp of commercial and financial regulatory laws
• Excellent legal drafting, analytical, and communication skills
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-growth startup environment
• Proactive, organized, and solution-oriented mindset

Salary/Stipend
