Details of the Job/Internship

Pirgal Consulting is hiring a Legal Associate with at least 1 year of experience to join their office in Bangalore.

Role and Responsibilities

• Handle GST registrations, amendments, cancellations, and related compliances.
• Prepare and review GST returns, including GSTR-1, GSTR-3B, annual returns, and reconciliations.
• Draft replies to GST notices, intimation letters, and clarification requests, excluding litigation matters.
• Assist clients with input tax credit reconciliations, refund applications, and compliance reviews.
• Conduct GST impact assessments and advisory on classification, valuation, place of supply, and exemptions.
• Conduct detailed legal research on CGST, SGST, IGST Acts, and applicable Rules.
• Analyse CBIC circulars, notifications, advance rulings, and judicial precedents.
• Prepare structured legal notes and technical opinions.
• Maintain GST knowledge repositories and compliance trackers.
• Vet commercial agreements from a GST and indirect tax perspective.
• Draft internal compliance checklists, SOPs, and process documentation.
• Guide interns and junior team members on GST procedures and documentation standards.
• Assist in internal audits and risk assessment exercises.

Eligibility

• LL.B. or B.Com. plus LL.B. qualification.
• Minimum 1 year of experience in GST advisory, compliance, and legal research.
• Strong understanding of indirect tax framework and procedural compliance.
• Excellent drafting and statutory interpretation skills.
• Strong analytical and reconciliation abilities.
• Ability to independently manage client coordination.
• Ability to mentor junior team members when required.

Salary/Stipend
