Details of the Job/Internship
Pirgal Consulting is hiring a Legal Associate with a minimum experience of 2 years to join its legal team in Bengaluru. The role involves managing legal processes, coordinating with government departments, handling client matters, and supporting litigation and compliance activities. The position requires strong drafting and research skills, sound regulatory knowledge, and the ability to undertake field visits involving GST and Income Tax departments, as well as court-related work.
Role and Responsibilities
- Coordinate with government departments, including GST and Income Tax authorities, for submissions, assessments, clarifications, filings, and follow-ups.
- Liaise with departmental officers to ensure timely resolution of matters.
- Conduct regular court visits for filing, obtaining certified copies, attending hearings, and case follow-up before civil courts, criminal courts, and tribunals.
- Assist senior counsel with case preparation, evidence compilation, legal documentation, and research.
- Draft and review legal documents such as notices, replies, agreements, petitions, affidavits, applications, and compliance-related documents.
- Carry out legal research on case laws, statutes, circulars, and notifications relating to GST, Income Tax, and civil and criminal matters.
- Prepare case briefs, summaries, and legal opinions under supervision.
- Coordinate with clients for documentation, clarifications, and status updates.
- Maintain legal files, trackers, and hearing schedules.
- Support compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with internal teams to provide legal support and stay updated on legal and procedural developments.
Eligibility
- LLB degree with Bar Council enrollment.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in litigation, compliance, or departmental legal work.
- Strong knowledge of court procedures, GST, and Income Tax processes.
- Excellent drafting, research, and analytical skills.
- Ability to manage field visits and meet time-sensitive deadlines.
- Strong communication and documentation skills.
- Proactive, detail-oriented, and capable of handling responsibilities independently.
