Ports, Customs & Free Zone Corporation is hiring a Legal Associate with experience of 4 years to join their office in Dubai.
Role and Responsibilities
- Assist in the development and implementation of legal policies and procedures to ensure adherence to federal, local, and internal standards.
- Support the review and alignment of laws, regulations, and decrees related to PCFC, collaborating with government stakeholders to facilitate their official publication.
- Contribute to the drafting and evaluation of administrative decisions, regulations, policies, and circulars within PCFC’s operational scope.
- Support in analyzing the impact of external legal changes on PCFC’s business units, and provide recommendations for compliance, including updates to internal policies.
- Collaborate on the legal review and co-development of draft local and federal laws and regulations, working with relevant governmental bodies.
- Conduct legal research on matters affecting PCFC, offering insights and recommendations to preempt legal challenges and aid decision-making.
- Utilize legal research tools to gather data, case law, statutes, and secondary sources relevant to legislative and regulatory matters.
- Deliver presentations to the management, legal teams, or policymakers to support decision-making processes.
- Assist in drafting and revising laws/policies etc. to ensure alignment with current laws and regulations and the PCFC's strategic objectives.
- Conduct reviews of organizational policies and procedures to identify and address compliance gaps.
- Provide legal research support in response to inquiries from internal stakeholders regarding legislative and regulatory issues.
- Assist legal teams in preparing for litigation by researching relevant legal precedents and regulatory issues.
- Engage with legal consultants, industry experts, and regulatory bodies to gather insights and validate research findings.
- Assist in assessing risks associated with external laws and regulations and help develop measures to mitigate these risks.
- Provide legal consultation to PCFC’s business units and departments on policy implementation, regulation interpretation, and legislative matters. Draft legal memoranda, policy briefs, and advisory opinions.
- Maintain organized records of research activities, legal documents, and policy changes, and ensure accuracy and confidentiality of legal documentation.
- Maintain relationships with external government authorities and key stakeholders to stay informed of regulatory changes and ensure swift adaptation.
Eligibility
- 4 years of experience in Legal Affairs.
- Experience in handling complex legislation and providing legal opinions in a corporate setting, preferably within the maritime, logistics, or corporate sectors.
- Bachelor's degree in Law, Legal Studies, or a related field.
- Certified Legal Manager (CLM), Certified lawyer.
