Details of the Job/Internship
PrepLadder is looking for a candidate for the position of Legal Associate.
Role and Responsibilities
- Contract Management: Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of commercial agreements, including service agreements, partnership contracts, licensing agreements, and NDAs.
- Legal Research: Conduct thorough legal research on issues related to education law, intellectual property, data privacy, corporate governance, and regulatory compliance.
- Compliance: Assist in ensuring company compliance with applicable laws and regulations, particularly in areas such as data protection (GDPR, CCPA), consumer protection, and education standards.
- Policy Development: Help develop and update company policies and procedures to mitigate legal risks and ensure compliance with industry standards.
- Dispute Resolution: Support the legal team in managing and resolving disputes, including drafting responses to claims, coordinating with external counsel, and assisting with litigation preparation.
- Cross-Functional Support: Provide legal support to various departments, including product development, marketing, sales, and HR, to facilitate business operations and strategic initiatives.
Eligibility
- 3-5 years of experience in a corporate legal department or law firm.
- Bachelor’s degree in law is mandatory.
- Strong legal research and analytical skills.
- Proficiency in contract drafting and negotiation.
- Strong organizational skills and diligence.
