Details of the Job/Internship

Salvors & Co. is hiring a Legal Associate with 1–2 years of experience to join their full-time team in Chennai.

Role and Responsibilities

• Contract Lifecycle Management: Draft, review, and negotiate various agreements, including service, vendor, licensing, and non-disclosure agreements.
• Risk Assessment: Identify potential legal and commercial risks within contract terms and propose strategic solutions to mitigate them.
• Compliance: Ensure all documentation adheres to local, state, and federal laws and regulations.
• Client Advisory: Work directly with corporate stakeholders to explain complex terms and ensure legal documents align with business goals.
• Database Management: Maintain and manage a comprehensive contract database, utilizing contract management tools to ensure accessibility and version control.
• Policy Development: Assist in creating internal policies and standard operating procedures (SOPs) for contract management.

Eligibility

• Bachelor’s degree in Law (LLB) from an accredited law school; an LLM is considered an advantage.
• Licensed to practice law in India.
• 1–2 years of focused experience in contract law, drafting, and negotiation.
• Preferred: Prior experience or interest in the Shipping, Energy, or IT sectors.
• Strong analytical skills and the ability to work under tight deadlines with high attention to detail.
• Proficiency in contract management software and systems.

Salary/Stipend
