Details of the Job/Internship
Salvors and Co. Is hiring a Legal Associate with experience of 2 to 3 years to join their office in Chennai.
Role and Responsibilities
- Contract Management: Draft, review, and negotiate various contracts, including service agreements, vendor agreements, non-disclosure agreements, and licensing agreements.
- Compliance and Risk Management: Ensure all contracts comply with local, state, and federal laws and regulations. Identify potential risks associated with contract terms and provide solutions to mitigate those risks.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with clients to gather requirements, explain contract terms, and ensure alignment with business objectives.
- Document Maintenance: Maintain a database of all contracts, ensuring that all documents are current and accessible. Implement and manage contract management tools as needed.
- Legal Support: Provide clients with legal advice regarding contracts. Assist in the development of policies and procedures related to contract management.
- Continuous Improvement: Stay informed about industry best practices for contract management and legal compliance. Suggest improvements to internal processes and templates.
Eligibility
- Bachelor’s degree in law from an accredited law school. LLM is an advantage but not mandatory.
- Licensed to practice law in India.
- 2-3 years of experience in contract law, with a strong background in drafting, reviewing and negotiating various contracts.
- Strong understanding of commercial and contract law and its application in a corporate environment.
- Excellent analytical, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to work under tight deadlines.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Experience in Shipping/Energy/IT is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with contract management software and systems.
