Details of the Job/Internship

Segumento is hiring a Legal Associate with experience of 2 to 5 years to join their office in Mumbai.

Role and Responsibilities

• Provide legal support for corporate and tax matters, with a focus on domestic and international regulations applicable to Indian businesses.
• Draft and review contracts for clients, employees and investors, ensuring compliance with all relevant Indian laws.
• Conduct due diligence reviews for the organization analyzing potential legal risks and opportunities.
• Stay up-to-date on relevant legal developments and industry trends.

Eligibility

• A Law degree (LLB) from a recognized Indian university or a Company Secretary (CS) qualification from the Institute of Company Secretaries of India (ICSI), or an equivalent combination of qualifications.
• 2-5 years of experience in a legal environment in India, with a focus on corporate or commercial law.
• Excellent analytical and research skills, with the ability to identify legal issues and propose solutions within the legal framework.
• Strong drafting and editing skills, with a keen eye for detail and an understanding of legal writing conventions.
• Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks effectively.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
• Working knowledge of relevant Indian legislation, including the Companies Act and Foreign Exchange Management Act (FEMA).
• Working knowledge of data and IT laws across India, Indonesia, and the Gulf regions, including the IT Act 2000 and the Digital Personal Data Protection (DPDP) Act 2023 (India), Indonesia's Personal Data Protection Law (PDP Law) and the Gulf Cooperation Council's data protection regulations will be a plus.
