Details of the Job/Internship

Snapmint is hiring a Legal Associate with experience of 3–4 years to join its legal team in Mumbai. The role involves commercial contract drafting and negotiation, regulatory research on RBI NBFC norms and fintech laws, legal risk management across lending and data usage, regulatory filings and audits, litigation coordination, stakeholder advisory, internal training, and contribution to governance and compliance frameworks.

Role and Responsibilities

• Review, draft, and negotiate commercial contracts including service agreements, partnership arrangements, merchant onboarding documents, and financing agreements.
• Conduct research on RBI NBFC norms, data protection laws, fintech regulations, and consumer lending standards.
• Manage legal risk across lending, collections, marketing, and data usage.
• Handle regulatory filings, audits, and engagement with RBI, MCA, and other regulators.
• Monitor timelines and ensure procedural compliance relating to notices, litigation, and dispute resolution.
• Collaborate with external counsel for litigation, structuring, and regulatory opinions.
• Develop material for internal training on legal and regulatory topics.
• Monitor and communicate legal and regulatory updates affecting the fintech and NBFC sector.
• Contribute to internal policy formulation, governance frameworks, and compliance monitoring programs.
• Stay updated with changes in laws, rules, and regulations impacting the business and industry.

Eligibility

• LL.B. or LL.M. from a reputed university in India.
• 3 to 4 years of post-qualification experience with exposure to law firms and/or in-house legal teams, preferably within fintech, NBFCs, or financial services.
• Strong understanding of regulatory advisory, commercial contracts, and compliance frameworks.
• Demonstrated ability to collaborate with business stakeholders, regulators, and external counsel.
