UKPA India is hiring a Legal Associate with experience of 2 to 3 years to join their office in Siliguri.
Role and Responsibilities
- Compile the necessary data and perform legal research on the rules and regulations about Stamp Duty Land Tax (SDLT) in the United Kingdom.
- Examine the effects of the SDLT on different land and property transactions in the UK.
- Create and examine tax advice reports, SDLT returns, and SDLT rebate claims.
- Compose case studies, summaries, essays, and other knowledge products about the UK SDLT system.
- Communicate on SDLT issues with clients, HM Revenue and Customs (HMRC), and other pertinent parties.
- For SDLT compliance and reporting, maintain and update databases, tracking systems, and daily documentation.
- Assist and educate colleagues and pertinent teams on SDLT difficulties.
- carry out additional responsibilities assigned by the line manager.
Eligibility
- A bachelor's degree in law or a similar discipline.
- Being qualified as a company secretary is an additional benefit.
- Two to three years of experience in the legal field is required, as is familiarity with SDLT, inheritance tax, and property taxes (IHT).
- Knowledge of tax and company law is preferred.
- Strong theoretical and research abilities combined with analytical abilities
- Capacity to understand and analyze tax laws and legal documentation
