Details of the Job/Internship
VJ Mathew & Co. is hiring a Legal Associate specialising in IPR with 1–2 years of experience to join their office in Cochin.
Role and Responsibilities
- Handling trademark, copyright, patent, and design filings.
- Drafting pleadings, agreements, notices, and legal opinions.
- Assisting in IP litigation and enforcement matters.
- Client advisory and portfolio management.
- Conducting legal research, analysis, and due diligence on client matters.
- Assisting senior counsels in drafting and presenting cases in court.
- Attending court hearings and presenting cases independently when required.
- Performing administrative tasks to support firm operations.
Eligibility
- 1–2 years of post-qualification experience in IPR.
- LLB or LLM degree from a recognised university.
- Bar Council enrolment with a valid license to practice in India.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Malayalam.
- Strong academic record with interest in legal research and writing.
- Ability to multitask, prioritise, and meet deadlines.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Prior internships or legal work experience is a plus, but not mandatory.
