Details of the Job/Internship

Legodesk is hiring a Legal Associate–Litigation (Debt Collection & Recovery) with experience of 2-5 years to join their legal department in Bengaluru, Karnataka.

Role and Responsibilities

• Analyze and review delinquent accounts to determine appropriate legal action for debt recovery.
• Draft, review, and send demand letters, legal notices, and other relevant documents.
• Prepare and file legal documents for lawsuits, repossessions, and court proceedings.
• Represent the organization in court hearings, arbitration, and mediation.
• Negotiate settlements and repayment plans with debtors.
• Manage all legal actions involving collections, including preparation and representation in court.
• Conduct legal research and stay updated on relevant laws and regulations.
• Collaborate with internal teams to coordinate and optimize recovery efforts.
• Maintain accurate records of all case-related activities and legal actions.
• Advise senior management on legal strategies for debt recovery.
• Ensure compliance with applicable laws and internal policies.
• Liaise with external counsel and manage law firm relationships.

Eligibility

• Bachelor’s degree in Law (LLB) from a recognized institution.
• Bar membership preferred.
• 2–5 years of experience in legal recovery, debt collection, litigation, or a similar field.
• Strong understanding of debt collection laws, litigation, and dispute resolution processes.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency in drafting legal documents and managing case files.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and time-management skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• High ethical standards and attention to detail.

Salary/Stipend
