Details of the Job/Internship
More Retail Private Limited is looking for a legal compliance associate manager with 4 to 5 years of experience to join them at their office in Hyderabad.
Role and Responsibilities
- Coordinate with external legal counsels for ongoing litigation matters across Andhra Pradesh and West Bengal.
- Manage cases related to: Arbitration proceedings, Consumer disputes, matters under the Negotiable Instruments Act, Execution petitions and recovery matters
- Track case progress and ensure timely updates to internal stakeholders.
- Maintain comprehensive MIS for all litigation matters, including case status, next hearing dates, financial exposure, legal spend, and outcomes.
- Prepare periodic MIS reports and dashboards for management review.
- Appear before courts, consumer forums, and relevant quasi-judicial authorities when required.
- Handle notices, replies, and legal documentation independently or in coordination with counsels.
- Provide strategic inputs for dispute resolution and risk mitigation.
- Handle and represent the company in: FSSAI (Food Safety and Standards Authority of India) related matters, Legal Metrology compliance and disputes
- Ensure adherence to all statutory requirements applicable to retail operations.
- Liaise with regulatory authorities and ensure timely closure of compliance issues.
- Maintain MIS and documentation for all compliance-related cases and inspections.
- Draft, review, and finalize lease agreements for retail outlets, supermarkets, and dark stores.
- Conduct legal due diligence of properties prior to lease execution.
- Coordinate with landlords for execution and registration of lease deeds.
- Issue legal notices to landlords in case of disputes, breaches, or operational challenges.
- Act as a liaison between the company and property owners for resolving issues related to: Rent disputes, Maintenance obligations, Lock-in and exit clauses, etc.
- Maintain a repository and MIS of all property-related legal documents, agreements, and dispute status.
- Collaborate closely with internal teams including operations, finance, and business development teams.
Eligibility
- Qualification: Bachelor of Laws (LLB) – Mandatory
- Experience: Minimum 4 to 5 years of relevant legal experience, preferably in retail, FMCG, or real estate sectors. Experience in handling multi-state legal operations will be an added advantage.
