Inhabitr is hiring a Legal and Compliance Manager to join their office in Mumbai.
Role and Responsibilities
- Monitoring and interpreting changes in laws and regulations impacting company operations.
- Providing legal guidance across departments to ensure compliance.
- Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating commercial contracts and agreements.
- Ensuring contractual arrangements comply with legal requirements and internal policies.
- Managing inter-company agreements.
- Identifying legal and compliance risks and implementing mitigation strategies.
- Establishing risk management processes.
- Developing and updating company policies aligned with regulatory requirements.
- Conducting employee training on compliance procedures.
- Managing regulatory filings and submissions.
- Liaising with regulatory authorities to address inquiries and inspections.
- Serving as a key contact for investors and ensuring compliance with investor agreements.
- Providing timely and accurate reporting to investors.
- Managing ESOP agreements and recordings using Eqvista or a similar platform.
- Managing 409A valuation compliance.
- Developing, implementing, and monitoring an effective compliance programme.
- Working with third-party partners to manage global compliance requirements.
- Ensuring compliance with data privacy laws, including GDPR and CCPA/CPRA, where applicable.
- Acting as the Company Secretary and overseeing corporate governance matters.
- Preparing and maintaining corporate records, including board meeting minutes and resolutions.
Eligibility
- LLB and Company Secretary qualification required.
- 6 to 10 years of experience in legal and compliance roles.
- Proven experience as a Legal and Compliance Manager or in a similar role.
- In-depth knowledge of legal and regulatory requirements relevant to the industry.
- In-depth knowledge of drafting contracts and agreements relevant to the industry.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Candidates willing to work the US shift from the office should apply.
