Details of the Job/Internship
Xacation Homes is hiring a Legal & Compliance Manager to oversee legal, regulatory, and compliance matters across its short-term rental and vacation home operations.
Role and Responsibilities
- Monitor and interpret short-term rental laws, zoning regulations, licensing, and tax requirements across operating markets.
- Ensure compliance with hospitality, housing, and consumer protection laws at city, state, and federal levels.
- Manage business registrations, permits, and operating licenses.
- Draft, review, and negotiate property owner or host agreements, vendor contracts, and partnership or platform agreements.
- Ensure contracts align with company risk and compliance standards.
- Identify legal and regulatory risks related to short-term rentals and property management operations.
- Support insurance reviews, claims coordination, and liability mitigation.
- Develop and implement internal compliance policies and procedures.
- Handle compliance inquiries, notices, and audits from regulatory authorities.
- Coordinate with external legal counsel on disputes, litigation, and complex legal matters.
- Assist with guest, host, and partner escalations involving legal issues.
