Details of the Job/Internship

Crossword is hiring a legal compliance officer to join them in Pune office. 

Role and Responsibilities

Mall Agreement Management:

• Draft and review agreements for malls, offices, and retail spaces.
• Ensure agreements comply with company policies and legal requirements.
• Manage lease renewals, amendments, and terminations while maintaining accurate records.

Government Liaisoning:

• Establish and maintain relationships with government officials and regulatory authorities to ensure smooth business operations.
• Handle licensing, permits, and regulatory approvals required for retail outlets.
• Ensure compliance with local, state, and national laws governing the retail industry.

Legal Compliance:

• Monitor and ensure adherence to legal and regulatory requirements for retail operations.
• Stay updated on changes in labor laws, environmental regulations, and commercial laws.
• Conduct internal audits to assess compliance risks and mitigate potential legal issues.

Employment Contracts:

• Draft, review, and maintain employment agreements while ensuring compliance with labor laws.
• Assist HR in addressing disputes related to employment contracts and ensuring smooth resolution.

Travel and Site Visits:

• Travel frequently to retail locations, malls, and government offices to address legal, compliance, and liaison matters.

Risk Management:

• Identify potential risks related to legal agreements, government interactions, and operational compliance.
• Provide strategic solutions to mitigate risks and ensure seamless business operations.

Eligibility

• Bachelor’s degree in Law (LLB); a Master’s degree (LLM) is a plus.
• 5+ years of experience in legal, compliance, or liaisoning roles, preferably in the retail industry.
• Proven expertise in mall agreements and real estate documentation.
• Experience in government liaisoning and employment law.

Salary/Stipend
