Details of the Job/Internship
Krea University is hiring a Senior Manager/AGM - Legal & Compliance with 12–15 years of experience to join their office in Chennai.
Role and Responsibilities
- Review all MOUs to be executed with donors, vendors, lessors, service providers, bankers, and other stakeholders.
- Ensure MOUs protect the interests of the organisation and mitigate identifiable risks and liabilities.
- Discuss and finalize agreements/contracts/MOUs with stakeholders and third parties and maintain a repository of executed agreements.
- Liaise with legal firms or attorneys on legal matters and provide inputs for defending the organisation.
- Identify applicable statutes and legislations for compliance, including tax laws, FCRA, and HR laws. Prepare checklists and ensure adherence.
- Compile SOPs outlining key compliance measures and ensure organisation-wide understanding and adherence.
- Track statutory compliance monthly and publish a dashboard for presentation to the GC and Board each quarter, including pending actions and timelines.
- Maintain a risk register for high and medium statutory compliance risks and implement mitigating measures.
- Perform any other tasks assigned by management.
Eligibility
- Qualified legal professional, preferably with Company Secretary qualification.
- Minimum of 12 to 15 years of experience in legal and compliance domain.
- Experience in organisations with revenues of Rs. 100 to Rs. 200 Cr, preferably in manufacturing, service industry, or not-for-profit organisations/trusts.
