PPL India is a performance rights organization that licenses its members’ sound recordings for public communication in areas of public performance and broadcast. It owns and controls the public performance rights of over 350 music labels, with more than 4.5 million international and domestic sound recordings.
Details of the Job/Internship
PPL India is hiring a Legal Consultant (IPR) to handle litigation and non-litigation work, draft legal notices, assist with copyright queries, prepare complaints, and support the legal and sales teams. The role also involves attending meetings, providing legal research, and traveling across India as required.
Role and Responsibilities
- Draft and send legal notices, replies, and emails to parties.
- Handle copyright-related queries and respond accordingly.
- Draft police complaints and representations.
- Manage litigation and non-litigation work, including preparation of plaints, IP suits, complaints, replies, affidavits, written statements, agreements, and obtaining injunction orders in the High Court.
- Attend meetings with corporate parties to clarify legal queries.
- Provide legal support to the Legal and Sales teams.
- Conduct legal research on relevant points.
- Assist with corporate legal work.
Eligibility
- Experience in intellectual property rights and related legal work.
- Ability to travel pan-India as required.
