Details of the Job/Internship
Phonographic Performance Limited (PPL) is hiring a Legal Consultant (IPR) to join their Mumbai office.
Role and Responsibilities
- Draft and issue legal notices, responses, and formal communications to defaulting or non-compliant parties.
- Respond to copyright-related queries raised by third parties via email or other correspondence.
- Draft and file police complaints, legal representations, and coordinate with relevant authorities.
- Handle litigation and non-litigation work, including drafting plaints, commercial IP suits, replies, affidavits, written statements, and other legal documents.
- Obtain injunction orders and represent the organization in relevant High Court proceedings.
- Draft and vet various contracts, agreements, and legal documentation related to copyright and trademark matters.
- Accompany team members for meetings with external stakeholders to address legal issues or disputes.
- Provide ongoing legal support to the Legal and Sales teams.
- Conduct legal research and analysis on IP and entertainment law-related matters.
- Undertake corporate legal work, as required.
- Willingness to travel pan-India for legal proceedings and meetings when necessary.
Eligibility
Education:
- Bachelor of Laws (LL.B).
Key Skills:
- Strong experience in litigation and legal drafting.
- Proficiency in preparing legal notices, agreements, affidavits, and IP suits.
- Good understanding of intellectual property law, especially copyright and trademark.
- Experience in handling corporate legal matters and providing actionable legal advice.
- Excellent research and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks efficiently.
