Details of the Job/Internship

DADB India is hiring for the position of a Legal Consultant with 5 years of experience to join their office in Bengaluru.

Role and Responsibilities

Contract Management:

Draft, review, and negotiate contracts related to business operations, including sales agreements, partnership agreements, NDAs, employment contracts and service agreements.
Ensure contracts are compliant with Indian laws and regulations and align with corporate objectives.
Develop and implement best practices for contract management, including templates, clauses and approval processes
Advise on legal implications of contractual terms and ensure timely renewals, terminations and dispute resolutions.

General Business Law:

Provide legal counsel on day-to-day business operations, including regulatory compliance, consumer protection laws and business transactions.
Ensure the organization complies with applicable local, state and national laws governing its industry and operations.
Assist in resolving disputes and claims and manage interactions with regulatory authorities.

Corporate Law:

Advise on corporate governance and compliance with the Indian Companies Act, including corporate filings, board meetings, resolutions and shareholder agreements.
Manage internal corporate structures, including legal advice on shareholder rights, director responsibilities and corporate obligations.

Intellectual Property (IP) and IT Law:

Provide legal support on issues related to the protection and commercialization of intellectual property, including patents, trademarks, copyrights and trade secrets.
Advise on IP-related contracts, licensing and disputes.
Provide legal counsel on IT law, data privacy, cybersecurity and ecommerce issues, ensuring compliance with Indian IT laws, such as the Information Technology Act, 2000 and data protection regulations.

International Trade Law (Optional):

Advise on cross-border transactions, imports/exports, trade agreements and compliance with international trade laws.
Provide insights into customs duties, taxation and trade regulations affecting business operations in India and internationally.
Assist in resolving international trade disputes and ensuring compliance with international treaties and trade regulations.

Legal Risk Management:

Identify and mitigate legal risks associated with business activities, contracts and corporate governance.
Provide proactive legal advice to avoid potential litigation and legal disputes.
Stay updated on changes in laws and regulations that may impact business operations and ensure timely updates to internal policies

Eligibility

Education:

Bachelor’s degree in Law (LLB) from a recognized university.
Master’s degree (LLM) in Corporate Law, Business Law, or a related field is an advantage.

Experience:

Minimum of 5 years of experience as a legal consultant, in-house counsel or in a law firm specializing in business law, corporate law, and contract management.
Proven experience in handling IP/IT law and general business law matters.
Knowledge of international trade law is a plus but not mandatory.
