People For Animals Public Policy Foundation (PFA PPF) is the legal and policy wing of the parent organization of People For Animals, which is one of India’s largest animal welfare organizations led by Smt. Maneka Sanjay Gandhi. PFA PPF was founded by Smt. Gauri Maulekhi is an accomplished animal rights activist, and Trustee of People for Animals and several other chapters. She has also been honored by the President of India with the Nari Shakti Award.
Details of the Job/Internship
People For Animals Public Policy Foundation is hiring a Legal Consultant to join their office in Ahmedabad.
Role and Responsibilities
- Associate communicate with the project donor, stakeholders, project team, etc primarily through mail, chat and phone and utilize soft skills to navigate effective solutions in a fun and fast-paced environment.
- Compile written reports, correspondences and presentations when necessary on items requested by the legal team and project incharge.
- Prepare case briefs and summarize statistical/documentary research after due investigations, field work, and observation records etc.
- opportunity to present ideas and information to various stakeholders involving policy makers/developers.
- Able to work towards monthly/ quarterly set goals by the project team for improving animal welfare standards.
- (Additional if legal background)- Provide administrative support and coordinate with in-house Litigation team and enhance effectiveness in filings, court proceedings, appeals, case management.
Eligibility
- Inclination towards policy making and execution.
- Awareness of issues relating to animal welfare & solution orientation is a must.
- Candidates are expected to have refined research and writing skills.
- Proficiency in English.
- Computer literacy. Excellent secretarial and organizational skills. Acute attention to detail and ability to think critically.
- Ability to juggle multiple activities and work under pressure.
- (Additional if legal background) Familiarity with law, legal procedures, vocabulary, protocols, and court system. Basic understanding about Animal protection laws is a must. Satisfactory knowledge of day-to-day operations of a legal office.
