Details of the Job/Internship

One97 Communications Ltd (Paytm) is hiring for the position of Legal Contracts - Manager with experience of 7-8 years to join their Noida office.

Role and Responsibilities

Legal Compliance & Risk Management:

• Oversee the legal aspects of the company's operations, ensuring compliance with Indian gaming laws, online gambling regulations, and other relevant legal frameworks.
• Advise on regulatory matters, including licensing, compliance, advertising, and consumer protection laws in the context of real money gaming.
• Stay up to date with evolving regulations in the gaming and tech sectors to ensure the business remains compliant.
• Conduct legal risk assessments and develop strategies to mitigate legal and operational risks.
• Assist in obtaining and renewing licenses and permits necessary for the company's operations in India
• Advise senior management on corporate governance matters, including compliance with company law, data privacy laws, and internal policies.
• Develop and implement internal policies, guidelines, and training programs to ensure that all employees are aware of legal requirements and best practices.

Contract Management:

• Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of contracts, including vendor agreements, game/platform licensing agreements, marketing agreements, collections and payment support services, and user terms & conditions.
• Drafting and final vetting of all sell side and buy side agreements, lease deeds, NDA, addendums, policies and guidelines etc. in discussion with customer, vendor, landlord, concerned departments. Includes interaction and negotiation with customers or vendors on important clauses. Ensure company has valid contracts that protect company’s interest with all the parties and comply with applicable laws and protect the company’s interests.

Cross-functional Collaboration:

• Work closely with internal teams, including marketing, product development, and finance, to provide proactive legal support and mitigate potential risks in business strategies.
• Offer guidance on promotional campaigns, user data management, and other operational matters to ensure they align with legal and regulatory standards.

Eligibility

• Minimum of 7-8 years of experience in legal practice, with a focus on gaming sectors.
• In-depth knowledge of Indian laws relating to online gaming, gambling, data privacy, intellectual property, and consumer protection.
• Experience in contract negotiation, drafting, and dispute resolution.
• Education: LLB (Bachelor of Laws) from a recognized university; additional qualifications such as an LLM or professional certifications in relevant fields are a plus.
