Details of the Job/Internship

Maersk is hiring a Legal Coordinator on a 12-month contract to manage and administer global cargo claims from their Mumbai office.

Role and Responsibilities

• Handle cargo claims as per set global guidelines.
• Maintain a customer-focused yet legally compliant approach to claims resolution.
• Manage and document all claims-related facts and maintain claim records.
• Coordinate with local front desks, legal teams, insurers, P&I clubs, and third-party administrators.
• Support internal and external stakeholders with claim resolutions and recovery.
• Ensure data accuracy and maintain claim databases.
• Participate in loss prevention initiatives and provide technical legal guidance.

Eligibility

• Graduate from a recognized university.
• LLB/LLM or MBA preferred.
• Knowledge of maritime law and claims handling required.
• Proficient in English, with strong analytical and comprehension skills.
• Team-oriented, well-organized, and detail-focused.
• Ability to multitask and take ownership of assigned work.
