Details of the Job/Internship

Suzlon Group is hiring a Senior Legal Counsel with 12–15 years of experience to support its business units in corporate, financing, and intellectual property matters. The role involves drafting, reviewing, and implementing policies, streamlining the IP framework, advising on M&A and financing transactions, and ensuring compliance with the applicable regulatory framework.

Role and Responsibilities

• Review and advise on loan agreements, sanction letters, and financing/security documents including mortgage, pledge, hypothecation, NDU, and corporate guarantees.
• Advise on regulatory frameworks pertaining to banking and financing, especially for borrowers.
• Manage M&A and strategic transactions including drafting, negotiations, compliance, and documentation for mergers, acquisitions, amalgamations, and divestments.
• Provide guidance on IP-related matters and streamline the group’s IP framework.
• Formulate policies, guidelines, and processes to mitigate legal and regulatory risks.
• Ensure agreements, NDAs, and MoUs comply with legal and Suzlon standards.
• Oversee corporate governance policies and processes mandated under law.
• Anticipate legal risks, ensure regulatory compliance, and support evolving frameworks.
• Handle litigation related to corporate and legacy matters; coordinate with external counsel.

Eligibility

• LLB from a recognized institution; additional certifications are a plus.
• 12–15 years of legal experience in corporate law, litigation, and contracts, preferably in a corporate or law firm setting.
• Strong knowledge of corporate, contract, regulatory, banking, finance, and IP laws.
• Proven expertise in managing litigation and transaction matters.
• Excellent drafting, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
