Details of the Job/Internship

Whatfix is hiring a Legal Counsel – Contracts & Commercial Laws with experience of 5–9 years to join their office in HSR Layout, Bangalore. 

Role and Responsibilities

• Draft, review, and negotiate commercial agreements, including master services agreements, partner agreements, vendor contracts, order forms, statements of work, NDAs, and RFPs.
• Coordinate with internal stakeholders to align on contract terms and risk mitigation.
• Manage contract lifecycle processes using CLM tools, including tracking and repository maintenance.
• Develop and improve contract templates, standard clauses, and legal playbooks across jurisdictions.
• Identify and escalate legal and business risks with clear recommendations.
• Address legal considerations relating to cybersecurity, open-source licensing, AI/ML regulations, and data protection.

Eligibility

• Bachelor’s degree in Law.
• 5–9 years of experience in legal, contracts, or commercial operations roles, preferably in a tech or SaaS company.
• Strong understanding of commercial contracts, intellectual property, GDPR, CCPA, and data protection laws.
• Experience with contract lifecycle management tools is preferred.
• Excellent organisational and communication skills with the ability to work under tight deadlines.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional and global teams.
