Details of the Job/Internship
Nykaa is hiring a Legal Counsel - Disputes with 2–3 years of in-house experience to join their headquarters in Mumbai.
Role and Responsibilities
- Manage end-to-end litigation (civil and criminal), including drafting, strategy formulation, and execution.
- Coordinate and brief external counsels effectively while tracking the progress of all court cases.
- Ensure timely filings and responses, maintaining a centralized tracking system for the litigation portfolio.
- Evaluate legal risks and provide strategic inputs to minimize company exposure during business decisions.
- Drive pre-litigation advisory and lead settlement discussions to resolve disputes efficiently.
- Oversee IPR matters, including trademark and copyright infringement and brand protection actions.
- Partner with Finance, Operations, and Customer Experience teams to align legal strategies with business goals.
- Build internal Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and frameworks for streamlined dispute management.
- Provide periodic litigation dashboards and updates to senior management regarding risk exposure.
Eligibility
- Education: LLB/LLM from a reputed law school.
- Experience: Prior experience at a reputed law firm with a focus on dispute resolution.
- In-House Experience: 2–3 years of experience managing litigation portfolios in-house is strongly preferred.
- Specialization: Strong understanding of Indian litigation processes, court procedures, and documentation.
- Added Advantage: Specific exposure to IPR (Intellectual Property Rights) matters.
- Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced, high-accountability corporate environment.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
