Details of the Job/Internship

Tesco Bengaluru is hiring a Lead – Legal Counsel (Contract) to handle diverse commercial contracts across the group.

Role and Responsibilities

• Draft and negotiate contracts across multiple categories, including goods for resale and non-resale.
• Provide specialised legal advice on contracts.
• Support implementation of standardised processes, engagement methods, and ways of working.
• Advise on a range of commercial contracts.
• Collaborate with specialist in-house lawyers (e.g., Data Protection, Competition Law, IP).
• Address stakeholder concerns and provide value-added solutions.
• Promote simplification and innovation in legal services through technology.
• Engage and support lawyers across the UK and international Tesco Group.
• Ensure compliance with Tesco’s Business Code of Conduct and policies.
• Represent Talent Acquisition in forums/seminars on process, compliance, and audit.
• Drive continuous improvement (CI) culture and implement innovation projects.

Eligibility

• LLB/LLM with strong commercial contracts experience.
• Proactive self-starter, able to work independently.
• Flexible and adaptable to diverse contract work.
• Strong project management and multitasking ability.
• Excellent interpersonal, team collaboration, and written communication skills.
• High attention to detail.
