Details of the Job/Internship

Infosys is hiring a Legal Counsel / Senior Legal Counsel with experience of 6 to 10 years to join their office in Bengaluru.

Role and Responsibilities

• Provide guidance to the business teams regarding the compliance requirements aroundthe use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) technology.Also, drive negotiations on Al-related terms invendor and client contracts.
• Collaborate with various stake holders across the organization to develop processes related to Al adaption.
• Review technical & legal aspects of services or product agreements.
• Sensitize technology teams of risks and negotiate with clients, vendors or partners.
• Negotiate contracts with clients and vendors for the product licensing and services.
• Manage overall lP and Al risk assessment process for proprietary product/platform development.
• Engage with business teams to understand technical & commercial contexts and translate the requirements for drafting of legal agreements.
• Conduct legal research on emerging technology areas to enhance awareness and update contractual positions.
• Support technology teams with open source compliance process.
• Support on cyber security related issues and develop practical framework for handling security incidents.
• Support different stake holders with online legal issues such intermediary liability, web crawling,online brand abuse, crowdsourcing, jurisdiction challenges, domain name squatting, phishing, IP leakage enforcement etc.

Eligibility

• Technical (preferably in electronic/software) background and a LLB with 6 to 10 years' work experience in corporate environment.
• Familiarity with the fundamentals of AI technology and awareness of regulatory developments across different jurisdictions,especially in EU and US.
• Strong understanding of different contracts such as MSA, software license agreements,SaaS, teaming agreement, MOU etc.
• Technical acumen of software development lifecycle.
• Keen interest in emerging technology areas such as Al, loT, Cloud, security etc is must.
• Clear understanding of IP concepts including patents, copyright and trade secret.
• Practical knowledge of issues such as fair use, derivative works, authorship, infringement, licensing principles, risk scenarios in software industry.
• Knowledge of opens source license compliance process.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Must be able to demonstrate/show examples of solutions provided to complex techno- legal İssues.
