Details of the Job/Internship
CIFF is hiring a Legal Counsel on a 12-month fixed-term contract at their Delhi office.
Role and Responsibilities
- Draft and negotiate grant, service, consultant, and monitoring agreements.
- Advise on governance, compliance, safeguarding, and regulatory updates (FCRA, FEMA, Data Protection, Companies Act).
- Manage external counsel, provide legal training, and oversee compliance frameworks.
- Conduct legal due diligence on partners and grantees.
- Collaborate with internal teams including Finance, HR, IT, and Programmes.
- Provide ad hoc advice on legal, regulatory, commercial, and governance issues.
- Drive process improvements and legal awareness across the organisation.
Eligibility
- Qualified Indian lawyer with proven experience in not-for-profit or similar fast-paced legal environments.
- Skilled in corporate, commercial contracts, regulatory law, and governance.
- Strong research, communication, organisational skills, and cultural sensitivity.
- Commitment to children’s development, climate change, and social impact work.
