Details of the Job/Internship

KLA is hiring a Lead, India Legal Counsel with 8+ years of experience to join their office in Chennai.

Role and Responsibilities

• Act as legal advisor on commercial transactions, labor law, compliance, and strategic initiatives.
• Draft, review, and negotiate various contracts including NDAs, IP, real estate, and service agreements.
• Advise on legal and regulatory matters such as antitrust, FCPA, privacy, trade compliance, and employment issues.
• Partner with HR on employment matters and internal investigations.
• Interface with government agencies and manage external counsel where required.
• Support legal integration of acquisitions and implementation of legal systems.
• Conduct internal investigations and contribute to global compliance initiatives.
• Provide training and regular legal updates to business and legal teams.
• Collaborate across global teams on legal strategy and process optimization.

Eligibility

• Law degree with excellent academic record.
• Member of the Indian or foreign bar in good standing.
• Minimum 8 years of legal experience at multinational companies or international law firms.
• Proficiency in commercial law and contract negotiation.
• Experience with FCPA, antitrust, employment law, trade compliance, and internal investigations preferred.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Fluency in English is required.
