Details of the Job/Internship
Pearson is hiring a Legal Counsel with experience in contract drafting, litigation, legal advisory, and property due diligence to join their Noida office.
Role and Responsibilities
- Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of commercial contracts across geographies, including NDAs, distributor, collaboration, supply, service, publishing, licensing, and lease agreements.
- Manage the full lifecycle of contracts, including template structuring, standardization, and creation of playbooks aligned with evolving business requirements.
- Advise internal business teams on new transactions and company policies; draft appropriate legal documents accordingly.
- Conduct initial review and due diligence of property documents for acquisition of new premises.
- Perform legal research and identify relevant case laws as needed.
- Handle litigation, including arbitration proceedings, civil recoveries, negotiable instrument cases, and employee-related matters.
- Knowledge of Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) law is preferred.
Eligibility
- Prior experience in drafting and negotiating contracts for multiple geographies.
- Familiarity with property law, litigation procedures, and IPR is desirable.
