Details of the Job/Internship
Nykaa is hiring a Legal Manager – Retail Leasing with 6+ years of experience to support its retail expansion and legal operations.
Role and Responsibilities
- Manage drafting, vetting, negotiating, and executing lease and related agreements while adhering to defined TATs and approved commercial terms.
- Conduct due diligence of proposed lease properties.
- Identify and mitigate legal risks; coordinate for deviation approvals as needed.
- Manage registration processes for lease and license agreements.
- Track and ensure timely renewal of leases to prevent operational disruptions.
- Review and update standard templates and SOPs in line with evolving legal and business requirements.
- Ensure proper use of the contract management system and train business teams on workflows.
- Enhance drafting quality with a focus on clarity, commercial detailing, and risk mitigation.
- Maintain organized legal databases and repositories.
- Conduct title due diligence and prepare due diligence reports.
- Define and enforce exit processes for retail stores in collaboration with stakeholders.
- Migrate historical contracts and data to the contract management tool.
- Stay updated on legal developments affecting the e-commerce and beauty sectors.
- Participate in learning programs and foster cross-functional collaboration.
- Provide proactive, commercially practical legal advice for new projects and business initiatives.
- Conduct legal research to support negotiations and advisories.
Eligibility
- LLB/LLM from a reputed law school.
- 6+ years of post-qualification experience, preferably in an in-house role in Retail, Logistics, or Telecom.
- Strong experience in drafting and negotiating retail leases, conducting due diligence, handling registrations, and assessing legal risks.
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently with a problem-solving mindset.
- Fast-paced work environment adaptability.
- Team player with good presentation skills.
Salary/Stipend
