Details of the Job/Internship

Waytogo Consultants is hiring a Legal Manager with expertise in banking law, litigation, and regulatory compliance. The role involves managing legal risks, overseeing litigation, handling fraud cases, and providing daily legal guidance to support smooth banking operations.

Role and Responsibilities

• Provide daily legal guidance and support to banking operations.
• Manage cases filed against the bank, including consumer cases, civil disputes, and employee-related legal matters.
• Offer legal support to business units on various operational and strategic matters.
• Handle criminal law issues, including fraud cases, filing complaints, and coordinating with law enforcement authorities.
• Manage matters under the SARFAESI Act, Debt Recovery Tribunals, and insolvency proceedings.
• Identify, assess, and control legal risks in new projects, systems, and products.
• Ensure compliance with legal risk standards, policies, and applicable laws.
• Manage external legal resources, including negotiation and settlement of legal fees.
• Liaise between banking personnel and external counsel.
• Provide training and awareness sessions on legal risks to internal teams.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant laws and practices in India.
• Build strong relationships with business areas and third parties to support high-quality outcomes.

Eligibility

• LLB/LLM degree from a recognized institution.
• Strong knowledge of banking law, SARFAESI Act, DRT, insolvency, and criminal law.
• Proven experience handling litigation, fraud, and regulatory compliance.
• Excellent drafting, negotiation, and communication skills.
• Ability to manage external counsel and control legal costs.
• Experience in providing legal training and advisory to business teams.

Salary/Stipend
