Details of the Job/Internship

Marriott International is hiring a Legal Counsel – Compliance & Data Privacy with 3+ years of experience to join their office in Gurugram.

Role and Responsibilities

• Support governance and compliance strategies set by global and regional committees.
• Collaborate with departments including Internal Audit, Government Affairs, and HR on compliance programs.
• Lead or advise on internal investigations involving business ethics, FCPA, and anti-bribery issues.
• Provide legal advisory on compliance-related matters and business operations.
• Conduct legal research and monitor regulatory developments.
• Develop and deliver training related to compliance and privacy laws.
• Support the implementation of Marriott’s data protection and privacy policies.
• Conduct legal reviews, contract drafting, and regulatory gap assessments.
• Coordinate incident response planning and interact with regulatory authorities as required.

Eligibility

• Law degree from an accredited law school.
• 3+ years of legal experience in a reputed law firm or corporate legal department.
• Active Bar membership or valid practicing certificate.
• Experience in any of the following: anti-bribery/AML/investigations, trade sanctions, antitrust, or data protection/privacy.
• Strong analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
• Flexibility for travel.

Salary/Stipend
