Details of the Job/Internship
Sophos is hiring a Legal Counsel – Data Privacy with experience of to join their office online.
Role and Responsibilities
- Act as the first point of contact for data protection queries from internal teams.
- Conduct and manage DPIAs and other privacy risk assessments.
- Identify and mitigate privacy risks and advise stakeholders accordingly.
- Manage employee data subject rights requests and coordinate with internal and external stakeholders.
- Conduct legal research and provide clear guidance on data protection matters.
- Review and maintain privacy policies, notices, SOPs, and privacy documentation.
- Advise on vendor onboarding involving personal data.
- Support the Global Privacy Program and escalate privacy risks where necessary.
Eligibility
- Qualified lawyer with expert knowledge of data protection laws and regulations, including in-depth understanding of GDPR.
- Experience in providing practical and timely legal advice and applying data protection law to business processes.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Experience in global organizations and familiarity with data management tools like OneTrust is desirable.
- CIPP/E or similar certification is an advantage.
- Fluency in English is mandatory.
