Details of the Job/Internship
ABB is hiring for the position of Legal Counsel – Electrification to join their Bengaluru office.
As the Legal Counsel – Electrification you will be part of the Electrification business area based in Bangalore, India. In this role, you will be reporting to the Legal Counsel and will be responsible for focusing on industrial products, and retail products as well as contract reviews, litigation, e-commerce, regulatory and compliance issues and framing policies at the business level.
Role and Responsibilities
- Drafting, reviewing and negotiating a wide array of commercial contracts, long-term sales agreements, frame agreements, procurement contracts, master agreements, licensing agreements, nondisclosure agreements, consortium agreements and others.
- Reviewing of non-standard formats or templates used across businesses for the sale of products through various channels.
- Reviewing of tenders documents, bids, and contract documents for risk analysis and mitigation steps.
- Handling litigations, recovery matters (including issuing legal notices and/or responding to notices) and managing disputes through a clear strategy.
- Providing general guidance and management of a full spectrum of business and legal issues with respect to Competition laws, the Legal Metrology Act, labour laws, the Consumer Protection Act and rules, and personal data protection laws.
- Providing legal updates under contract law, cyber laws, information technology, privacy and data protection laws.
- Supporting other functions like human resources, finance, project management, supply chain, trade compliance, and treasury on various legal issues.
Eligibility
- Bachelor’s degree in law from a reputed college.
- Minimum 6 to 10 years of relevant experience.
- Experience working in a multi-national company with manufacturing set up in India.
- Flexibility and willingness to work on a broad variety of matters from complex matters to routine standard matters.
- Ability to interpret local and international laws in the context of business.
