Infosys is hiring for the position of Legal Counsel (EMEA Contracts Team) with 4-8 years of experience to join their office in Bengaluru.
Role and Responsibilities
- Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of complex commercial IT contracts governed by various European legal systems, including:
- IT outsourcing agreements
- IT service agreements
- Alliance and subcontracting agreements
- Software license and SaaS agreements
- Other commercial contracts relevant to the IT services industry
- Review and analyze Requests for Proposals (RFPs) and assist in proposal submissions and related documentation.
- Participate in high-stakes negotiations with clients and vendors across Europe, ensuring alignment with internal legal policies and risk mitigation strategies.
- Advise on commercial and legal risks, present actionable recommendations to business teams and senior management, and serve as a liaison between local offices and global headquarters.
- Provide corporate legal advisory and act as the local interface for the global legal team on compliance and regulatory matters.
- Monitor relevant legal and regulatory developments impacting business operations.
- Share insights on local laws and business trends with the global legal community to ensure consistency and best practices.
Eligibility
- 4–8 years of experience in complex, high-value commercial contracting—preferably in the IT services or technology sector.
- Expertise in contract law, with excellent skills in drafting, reviewing, and negotiating commercial agreements.
- Solid understanding of IT industry practices and industry-specific legal frameworks.
- Proven ability to handle multi-layered, cross-border transactions independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Strong communication and negotiation skills in English—both written and verbal. Experience working or studying abroad is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with common law principles and European legal systems; an LLM or similar international legal qualification is preferred.
- Capable of offering practical solutions to complex legal challenges in a fast-paced, client-driven environment.
- Willingness to travel across Europe on short notice for client meetings and negotiations.
- Resilience under pressure, attention to detail, and a sense of humor are appreciated.
