Details of the Job/Internship
ENGIE India is seeking a Legal Counsel – Ethics to uphold the highest standards of ethics and integrity across its India operations.
Role and Responsibilities
- Provide ethics and compliance advice across business functions including Procurement, HR, Finance, and Operations.
- Implement and operationalize Group Ethics policies locally.
- Conduct ethics and compliance training for new hires, directors, and ongoing refresher sessions.
- Lead ethical risk assessments, monitor emerging risks, and prepare due diligence reports.
- Manage investigations related to misconduct, harassment, and ethics policy breaches.
- Review third-party due diligence and recommend risk mitigation measures.
- Coordinate with Internal Audit on ethics-related findings and controls.
- Advise on ethical aspects of sponsorships, donations, and CSR activities.
- Support data privacy compliance and sanctions/embargo monitoring.
- Ensure local adaptation and rollout of Group policies related to ethics and compliance.
- Prepare periodic ethics reports for regional and Group leadership.
Eligibility
- Legal qualification or master’s degree from a reputed university
- 8+ years of legal or compliance experience, preferably in corporate practice
- Excellent command of English
