Details of the Job/Internship

ENGIE India is hiring a Legal Counsel – Ethics with over 10 years of legal or compliance experience to oversee ethical compliance and integrity standards across its operations in India.

Role and Responsibilities

• Advise business functions on ethics and compliance matters.
• Implement Group ethics policies across local operations.
• Conduct ethics induction and refresher training for employees and directors.
• Promote ethical culture through campaigns and awareness programs.
• Lead annual risk assessments on ethics, human rights, anti-corruption, and data privacy.
• Monitor and assess emerging compliance risks.
• Conduct investigations into ethical misconduct and policy breaches.
• Review due diligence checks on third parties and recommend mitigation strategies.
• Coordinate with internal audit teams on compliance-related audits.
• Advise on ethical aspects of donations, sponsorships, and CSR activities.
• Ensure compliance with data privacy regulations and support DPIA processes.
• Monitor sanctions/embargo risks and ensure compliance in new partnerships.
• Manage roll-out and local adaptation of Group ethics and compliance policies.
• Use CET tools for incident reporting and documentation.
• Submit periodic ethics reports to AMEA and Group headquarter.

Eligibility

• Legal qualification and/or Master’s degree in Law from a reputable institution.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in legal or compliance roles.
• Background in corporate legal practice.
• Strong understanding of governance, ethical rules, and the energy regulatory framework.
