Details of the Job/Internship

H&M Group is hiring a Legal Counsel – Expansion with experience of 5+ years to join their office in New Delhi. 

Role and Responsibilities

• Support, guide and safeguard the company regarding leases and other legal contracts.
• Negotiate, draft and review property documents and various agreements.
• Implement legal standards, templates and strategies while conducting judicial enquiries, risk assessments and due diligence.
• Act as a gatekeeper of the company’s interests by ensuring robust legal mechanisms, clearances and financial mitigation.
• Handle statutory, regulatory, government and judicial authorities for approvals and risk mitigation.
• Manage contract negotiations, finalisation, registration and coordination with commercial and legal counterparts.
• Oversee legal defence actions and litigation management, including notices of breach and tracking notifications.
• Keep the organisation informed about relevant regulatory developments.
• Collaborate with the Expansion team, including Lease Managers and Legal Counsels.

Eligibility

• LLB or LLM with a minimum of 5 years of experience in a law firm or in-house legal role, with a focus on real estate law.
• Knowledge of employment law, company law and general contract law is preferred.
• Strong initiative, problem-solving skills and an organised working style.
• Growth mindset with openness to change and high attention to detail.
• Integrity, rational thinking and confidence in decision-making.
• Team player with strong collaboration skills.

Salary/Stipend
