H&M Group is hiring a Legal Counsel – Expansion with at least 5 years of experience to support and protect the organisation in matters related to leases, property contracts, and other legal issues.
Role and Responsibilities
- Negotiate, draft, and review property documents and various agreements.
- Set and enforce legal standards, templates, and strategies.
- Conduct judicial enquiries, risk assessments, and due diligence.
- Ensure due diligence of projects and safeguard company interests through robust legal mechanisms.
- Handle clearances from regulatory, statutory, government, and judicial authorities.
- Manage negotiation, finalisation, and registration of contracts, including stamp duty processes.
- Oversee legal defence actions, litigation prevention, and management, including notices of breach and tracking notifications.
- Keep the organisation updated on relevant regulatory developments.
- Collaborate with Expansion team members, including Lease Managers and Legal Counsels.
Eligibility
- LLB or LLM with at least 5 years of experience in a law firm or as in-house Legal Counsel focusing on real estate law.
- Knowledge of employment law, company law, and general contract law is beneficial.
- Strong initiative, problem-solving ability, and structured working style.
- Growth mindset with attention to detail.
- Strong integrity, decision-making ability, and comfort handling conflicting interests.
- Team player committed to collaboration.
