Details of the Job/Internship

HSBC is hiring a Legal Counsel – Global Payment Solutions with 8–10 years of experience to join their office in Bengaluru.

Role and Responsibilities

• Provide proactive legal support for negotiations and escalate complex matters when necessary.
• Deliver clear and practical legal advice and identify root causes and solutions.
• Support regulatory-sensitive GPS transactions and manage associated legal risks.
• Conduct gap analysis between standard terms and bespoke documents.
• Review and amend template documentation for GPS products and manage legal risks.
• Ensure GPS implementations are supported legally for timely execution.
• Collaborate effectively with Legal, Implementations, and Business teams across geographies.
• Ensure compliance with internal policies, negotiation guidelines, and regulatory frameworks.

Eligibility

Qualified lawyer (preferably from a common law jurisdiction).
8–10 years post-qualification experience in banking and finance law.
Experience with GPS documentation including Master Services Agreement, Confidentiality and Regulatory Annex, Board Resolutions, Service Agreements for Corporate Cards, Pooling, Cash Concentration, and Virtual Accounts.
Strong knowledge of domestic banking and finance laws.
Payments and regulatory experience preferred.
