Details of the Job/Internship
HSBC is looking for an experienced Legal Counsel to join its Global Payment Solutions (GPS) Legal team in Bengaluru. The ideal candidate should have 8–10 years of post-qualification experience in banking and finance law.
Role and Responsibilities
- Provide timely and strategic legal support for negotiation processes and transactional documentation.
- Review and adapt GPS product templates and assist in resolving complex legal matters.
- Support GPS implementations and ensure compliance with HSBC’s internal playbooks and regulatory standards.
- Escalate issues to senior legal counsel or regional product legal teams as needed.
- Collaborate closely with Product, Sales, and Implementation teams globally.
Eligibility
- Qualified lawyer (preferably from a common law jurisdiction).
- 8–10 years post-qualification experience in banking and finance law.
- Expertise in GPS documentation (e.g., Master Services Agreements, Board Resolutions, Pooling, Virtual Accounts, etc.).
- Familiarity with payments law and regulatory frameworks preferred.
- Strong analytical, negotiation, and stakeholder communication skills.
