Details of the Job/Internship
Swiggy is hiring for the position of Legal Counsel I (Litigation) with 0-2 years of experience to join their office remotely.
Role and Responsibilities
- Handle time-sensitive requests from law enforcement authorities under Section 94 BNSS / 91 CrPC, ensuring compliance and timely coordination across internal teams.
- Validate and compile data for legal responses within 12 hours of notice receipt.
- Support the litigation team by preparing case briefs, conducting legal research, reviewing documents, and drafting replies to legal notices.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date trackers for incoming notices and outgoing legal responses.
- Establish and sustain communication with police authorities, providing timely updates and confirmations.
- Identify, assess, and onboard external legal counsel across jurisdictions, particularly in Tier II and Tier III cities.
- Coordinate legal billing processes, ensuring timely approval and disbursement of legal invoices in collaboration with the Finance team.
- Maintain comprehensive records of legal expenses, retainers, and litigation-related documents for internal audits and reporting.
- Assist with court appearances and hearings, including managing physical and digital evidence.
- Oversee legal documentation, courier management, and case logistics.
Eligibility
- 0–2 years of experience in a legal executive or paralegal role within a dynamic, fast-paced organization.
- Exposure to court procedures and quasi-judicial bodies is highly desirable.
- Proven ability to engage with external counsels and manage legal matters across different locations.
- Strong coordination and communication skills to work effectively within cross-functional teams.
- Highly organized with a meticulous approach to documentation, compliance tracking, and deadline management.
