Details of the Job/Internship

Worley is hiring a Legal Counsel I with 5+ years of experience to support digital consulting operations remotely for teams based in Australia, Canada, the Middle East, Europe, the UK, and the USA.

Role and Responsibilities

• Provide strategic legal advice on contractual and commercial matters related to software licensing, development, distribution, reselling, IP protections, and technology commercialization.
• Draft, review, and negotiate technology-related contracts including SaaS/PaaS/IaaS, licensing, distribution, hosting, and engineering software agreements.
• Monitor and interpret legal and regulatory frameworks in Australia and the USA to ensure compliance.
• Collaborate with internal teams including project managers, engineers, and management.
• Identify legal risks in technology projects and implement mitigation strategies.
• Advise on compliance with internal governance policies, including delegations of authority.

Eligibility

• Bachelor’s degree in Law (LLB) from a recognized university.
• Australian or international legal qualifications, including master’s degree or specialist accreditations, are highly regarded.
• Minimum 5 years of post-qualification experience, with a focus on technology-related projects in the energy and resources sector.
• Combination of in-house and private legal practice experience preferred.
• In-depth knowledge and experience with a wide variety of technology agreements and commercial transactions.
• Familiarity with Australian and US legal systems and industry standards.
• Strong analytical, drafting, negotiation, and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and remotely on multi-jurisdictional projects.

Salary/Stipend
