Details of the Job/Internship
Swiggy is hiring a Legal Counsel II to join their office in Bengaluru.
Role and Responsibilities
- Draft, review, negotiate, execute, and implement contracts including without limitation Lease Deeds, Leave and License Agreements, RFPs, Master Service Agreements, statements of Works, and other legal documents of real estate specifically and a broader set of corporate documents.
- Support the various functions in negotiation, execution, and closing of all project-related legal documents and Coordinate with external agencies on legal aspects of real estate due diligence;
- Support new business initiatives, and project work with project teams to ensure legal evaluation and timely compliance with all conditions precedent and other contractual obligations. Prepare in-house preliminary opinions;
- Advise on all statutory requirements under Labour Laws, FSSAI, Pollution and fire compliance related laws and support on regulatory compliances,
- Liaise with relevant departments to ensure legal risks have been identified and appropriate measures are taken,
- Responsible for managing litigations including recovery proceedings and other matters
- Formulate compliance check-lists to be used for ensuring that all information required is provided accordingly,
- Liaise with Law Enforcement Agencies and support in filing complaints and advice on remedies available under Criminal and other applicable Laws
- Prepare monthly and quarterly reports for the department for executive management meetings.
Eligibility
- Law degree from a leading law school.
- Licensed to practice law in India.
- Legal experience.
- Core experience in real estate-related negotiations and documentation.
- Transactional drafting, negotiation, and advisory experience gained preferably in a mix of leading law firms and in-house at a multinational corporation.
- Professional-level fluency in English, written and spoken.
- In-house experience at a technology company or in a private practice technology group.
- Familiarity with IT/ technology licensing, e-commerce, outsourcing, and services agreements.
- Understanding of intellectual property, digital marketplace, competition, and privacy issues.
