AB InBev India is hiring for the position of Legal Counsel Manager with 4 years of experience to join their office in Bengaluru.
Role and Responsibilities
Legal Advisory
- Provide proactive and strategic legal advice across a broad range of legal matters including commercial contracts, regulatory issues, IP, corporate governance, and compliance.
- Act as a trusted advisor to internal stakeholders, balancing legal risk with business priorities.
Regulatory Compliance
- Ensure compliance with applicable laws and industry regulations; provide training to internal teams.
- Review documentation and processes, offering practical, risk-mitigated solutions.
Contract Management
- Draft, review, and negotiate a variety of commercial agreements including supplier, distribution, licensing, and strategic partnership contracts.
- Align contract terms with business objectives while ensuring legal safeguards.
Risk Management
- Identify and mitigate legal and compliance risks; guide internal stakeholders on legal implications of key decisions.
- Support the business in building processes that reduce future liabilities.
Corporate Governance
- Advise on matters related to board governance, corporate policies, and regulatory compliance with corporate law.
Transactions & M&A
- Support M&A activity and strategic initiatives by conducting legal due diligence, drafting transaction documents, and providing end-to-end legal support.
Dispute Resolution
- Manage and oversee legal disputes, litigation, and arbitration matters in coordination with external counsel.
- Develop strategies to protect the company’s interests and minimize exposure.
Legal Training & Awareness
- Develop and deliver training sessions to business units to promote legal awareness and foster a culture of ethics and compliance.
Cross-functional Collaboration
- Partner with teams across functions—sales, marketing, finance, and operations—to deliver integrated legal solutions aligned with business goals.
ontinuous Improvement
- Keep abreast of evolving legal and regulatory trends.
- Contribute to the evolution and efficiency of internal legal processes and best practices.
Eligibility
- Bachelor’s degree in Law (LL.B.) from a recognized university.
- 4+ years of post-qualification experience in corporate and commercial law.
- Prior in-house experience, especially in the FMCG, manufacturing, or beverage sector, is preferred.
- Strong expertise in regulatory compliance, contract drafting/negotiation, and risk assessment.
- Proven ability to independently manage complex legal issues with sound judgment and business acumen.
- Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
