Details of the Job/Internship
Nykaa is hiring a Legal professional with 7–11 years of experience to manage retail leasing and property due diligence.
Role and Responsibilities
- Contract Lifecycle Management:
- Draft, vet, negotiate, and execute lease, leave and license, and related agreements within defined timelines.
- Conduct legal due diligence of properties proposed to be taken on lease.
- Identify and mitigate legal risks and coordinate deviation approvals with stakeholders.
- Manage registration of lease and license agreements.
- Track lease renewals and ensure timely execution to avoid operational disruptions.
- Review and update standard templates and SOPs in line with legal and business changes.
- Ensure compliance with internal SOPs for execution and termination of leases.
- Drive effective use of the contract management system and train business teams.
- Maintain legal databases and contract repositories.
- Due Diligence:
- Conduct title due diligence for proposed retail stores.
- Prepare and sign off on property due diligence reports.
- Template Updating & Version Control:
- Periodically update lease templates to reflect evolving requirements.
- Define and enforce exit processes for retail stores.
- Keep SOPs updated for onboarding retail stores.
- Drive migration of legacy contracts and data to the contract management system.
- Knowledge Management & Advisory:
- Track legal developments, regulatory changes, and judicial precedents relevant to retail and e-commerce.
- Provide proactive, commercially pragmatic legal advice on new initiatives and projects.
- Conduct legal research to support negotiations and advisory work.
- Collaborate closely with internal teams and contribute to knowledge-sharing initiatives.
Eligibility
- LLB / LLM from a reputed law school.
- 7–11 years of post-qualification experience, preferably in-house in Retail, Logistics, or Telecom.
- Strong expertise in retail lease drafting, negotiation, due diligence, and registration processes.
- Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and presentation skills.
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment with a problem-solving mindset.
- Strong team orientation and attention to detail.
Salary/Stipend
