Details of the Job/Internship
Apraava Energy is hiring a Legal Counsel with experience of 3–6 years to support the Senior Legal Counsel and the operations legal team.
Role and Responsibilities
- Assist in providing legal advice on operations, asset management, compliance matters, and project documentation.
- Review, negotiate, and finalize contracts and other legal documents related to project development and acquisitions.
- Advise on legal aspects of the company’s existing portfolio and ongoing projects.
- Coordinate with internal teams such as Operations, Asset Management, Business Development, Human Resources, Procurement, Corporate Services, Compliance, and Risk.
- Assist in evaluating proposed transaction structures and reviewing RFQ and RFP documentation.
- Participate in pre-bid discussions with the Business Development team.
- Analyze project-related data to identify potential legal risks under company and government policies.
- Prepare legal risk matrices and assist management in assessing business opportunities.
- Support EPC contracting processes, including contractor qualification, due diligence, and contract documentation.
- Assist in appointing external legal consultants and coordinating with them on legal documentation.
- Draft and review contractual agreements such as confidentiality agreements, service contracts, and developer or turnkey contracts.
- Review existing PPA documents and update EPC contracts based on regulatory changes.
- Ensure compliance of FSA documentation with government standards.
- Assist with legal due diligence, research, document management, and transaction management.
- Provide advice on day-to-day legal issues and coordinate with internal and external stakeholders.
Eligibility
- LLB degree.
- 3–6 years of total professional experience.
- Basic knowledge of Indian laws relating to the energy or power sector.
- Experience in drafting contracts and handling tender documentation or project contracting.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage tight timelines.
- Strong communication skills with sound judgment and high ethical standards.
- Experience or functional understanding of the power sector is preferred.
