Details of the Job/Internship
Aptean India is hiring a Senior Legal Counsel with 5–8 years of post-qualification experience to join their office in Bengaluru.
Role and Responsibilities
- Ensure compliance with APAC privacy and data protection laws.
- Negotiate privacy terms in customer, vendor, and partner agreements.
- Integrate privacy-by-design principles into product and process development.
- Monitor and communicate updates on APAC privacy laws.
- Conduct privacy risk assessments and implement mitigation strategies.
- Deliver internal training on privacy obligations and compliance.
- Manage data subject rights requests and support resolution.
- Advise on marketing-related e-privacy compliance.
- Support data incident identification and remediation.
- Provide legal support on HR policy implementation and vendor contracts.
- Ensure compliance with local employment laws and company policies.
Eligibility
- Law degree from India and qualification to practice law.
- 5–8 years of post-qualification experience with at least 5 years in privacy and employment law in-house.
- Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP/A) or equivalent.
- Experience with contractor, employment, and privacy agreement drafting and negotiation.
- Experience working with InfoSec teams in a software company.
